OK so I got up this morning after a great night of sleep and knew today was THE day! I was getting my new student information system program today! YEAH, I was going to play on it while the board meeting was going on and it was going to be great. Now it is time to wake up to the real world, but I will get to that soon.
After I fed my darling dogs I headed to Daddy's to see how his night went and to have some coffee, on the way there about 1 mile from my house I saw a doe, she was just standing there looking around and enjoying the morning, I remembered at that point that I had forgotten to tell Daddy that Nicole and I saw 22 geese walking across the road near his house, when we returned from Chicago, single file in no hurry ,cause they knew they had the right- a- way, they just took their time, it was a wonderful sight.
So when I got there we got busy talking about this and that and I plum forgot the deer and the geese. I had bought some sweet rolls last night at the store and I knew if I kept them here I would eat the whole package so I took them there and gave them to Daddy so he could have them later in the day or for breakfast in the morning.
When I got to work I started pulling files of students that needed to be rotated, and taking out the shot records that had not been inputed so far this year, I was going to use this as my new info to input when my program was up. I got the call and remoted the tech in and found out we needed to have access to the server so I called the school PC techs and one of them came out from Shawnee and helped me get the remote access for the server, it then took the rest of the day for this to be updated, from 10:00 am till 2:15 pm I have a clean office now, cause I could not get on the PC while this was all going on ,so I cleaned. When she was done I asked her" so what do I do now to get on the program? " and she replied "Tomorrow they will call you with a new password"can you believe this? I have waited all summer for this day to get here to have it fall apart, oh well I did not have time at the board meeting to do this anyway. I was disappointed but I know there will be enough time to use this, I was working at my desk when I was asked by our male custiodian where my husband works, it is not any easier now than it was a year and a half ago to tell anyone, little did I know this was just the warm up.
So after work I went home and made some fried rice, I had told Daddy I would have it made before I went to the meeting, well it was still cooking when he got there so we got to visit for a bit then when it was done Daddy ate then we went outside to move a little dirt with the tractor so the boxers would not go under the gate any more, not long after that Daddy went home, then Misti and kids got to the house so they were able to eat then the kids and I played hideouts, where you get a blanket and put it over your head so you cant be seen except by the people under the blanket with you, I told Patience how her and Pappy use to take blankets and put them over the table so it would make a big tent and the would play there so we decided to use the dinning room table and after I got it set up I told them I need to leave for work so I will see you tomorrow.
I got to meet each of the prospective Supers, I was pretty surprised when as they came in each one would come up to my window and say "You must be Jenny", Each one had been to the schools website and knew who was who, It was kind of comical when the first one greeted me and said You must be Jenny and you are the High School Secretary, I thought wow they need to update that page cause I am a lot more than that, but the new guy will find that out soon enough. Each one was very friendly but I guess if you want a job you are going to go in friendly, they arrived about half an hour apart, so they hung out at my office visiting with me while they waited to be called into the board room. See there was not time for the PC. Two different candidates asked me where my husband worked tonight, like I said this morning was just the warm up, I got on my phone and texted my friend and told her I needed my umbrella, so we chatted for a bit then I told her I was OK and would not cry at work. I don't know what I would do without her, she makes me smile and helps me keep on keeping on. Well it is off to bed for this tired lady.
