So today I got up and around and headed over to Mom and Daddy's house. I stayed for a bit and headed to work to get started. I was only there about 5 minutes before the first group of students arrived. I really enjoy when I get to see the kids after a break so I can exclaim how much they have grown or changed. I try very hard to greet each child by name when I see them in the hall or in the lunchroom. The day went so fast and with out hardly a break. I did stop for lunch, I had Misti bring me a chef salad last night, so I could have it for lunch today. It was so large I was able to share it with 3 other people and still have enough left for me to have for lunch on Friday. So after lunch ,we hit the ground running again. Between parents calling and coming in to see if we still had room for their child to enroll. Pluse getting bus schedules done and other class related things, there was not much time to stop and think.
So when the bell rang for school to be over I still had about 2 1/2 hours of work left to do. The beginning of the year is a very busy time. But after about a week of nonstop paperwork it will slow down to pleasant.
When I got home I asked the kids what we were having for dinner and Payton told me" we don't know yet". So then he asked me if we could have hot dogs and I told him sure. After dinner Misti and Patience ran to get stuff from the store. Payton and I stayed home to get his bath done, now it is time to play, we are playing concert. This is where all his imaginary friends come to watch him sing. We are "driving there now" We are both sitting in the back seat with Payton's stirring wheel pulled all the way back so he can sit by me. I was pleased to meet each of his guest as they came. Barney, Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Baby Bop, BJ, The Wiggles and Goofy were all there to watch him sing, John Jacob and also Hello my name is Joe. These are his two favorites this week.
When Misti and Patience got home we made no bake cookies and Patience just could not understand why she could not help bake them. But she sure did enjoy helping us eat them.
Now it is bedtime and we will hurry back to school again in the morning.
