Wednesday August 10 shaking hands with the clock.

I awoke at 214 this morning hearing thunder and seeing lighting.  I looked at my clock and saw it was flashing 1214 so I knew the power had gone off or it would not have been flashing, so I was trying to set my alarm on my cell and could not wake up enough to function but was awake enough to know I had to get this done so I would not be late for work.

So I got up when my cell went off and got ready for work, went out to feed the dogs and cats.  While I was out there, I had a bit of trouble with the dogs wanting to join the cats outside the fence.  Got everyone back where they belonged and headed out, chasing the clock.

As I was pulling into Moms my cell was ringing, it had slid under me as I drove so I figured I would answer it when I parked, it was Mom calling to see if I was ok since I was later than normal.  I told her I had gotten a late start. Well we visited for a bit the Daddy came in and told me that it was getting time that I would normally leave.

When I got to work I had a couple of minutes to center myself before other started getting there.  The day went ninety to nothing, it seemed like there was no break.  Even when I sat down to have lunch I was asked to return to my office as I had parents there who had came in to enroll students.   We ended  the year last year with a total enrollment of 264, I was told the other day my goal was 300 for this year.  When I left work tonight at 6pm the enrollment was at 298 with a slip from a parent wanting to know if we could accept her two children.  We told her we would give her an answer within 48 hours.  When I told my Principal he was pleased.

To celebrate I had asked Misti if I could watch her kids this evening so we could go to Casadoras for dinner and Braums for dessert. Then we came home and took bathes and now are in bed.  One of these days I know I will hit a brick wall and all of this will fall apart with me right in the center but until then I will continue running as far and as fast as I can so I will be tired enough to sleep the night thru.
